"Those two things together are worth more than everything I own," The Flash said with a sigh.
"Give yourself some credit. Either one alone would do it," Roland said, handing The Flash a blessed cross.
"This is—" The Flash kept feeling as though a dark aura lingered around the cross, though he wasn't sure whether he was imagining it. "Who blessed this? Don't tell me you did it yourself?"
"Lucifer," Roland explained.
"—You call that a blessing?" The Flash felt a headache coming on and put the cross away. "Don't let my religious relatives find out."
"What's wrong with it? It's a holy relic blessed by an angel," Roland said with complete conviction.
"A fallen angel is still an angel, huh?" The Flash pursed his lips. "So keeping this around won't have any side effects, right? Like attracting ghosts?"
"No, it won't." Roland thought for a moment. "Quite the opposite. It wards off evil, too. Ordinary demons wouldn't dare approach once they sensed its aura."
