"How much longer is this rain going to last?" Hippolyta gazed at the sky. Dark clouds still hung over the Amazons, and emerald rain kept falling. "Divine power has been thrown into chaos. This ominous feeling keeps growing stronger."

"Is that why you called me back, Mother?" Wonder Woman asked. "The whole world is in chaos right now. Other places need me too."

"No, that isn't the only problem. The Amazons are facing a tremendous crisis," Hippolyta said. "I can feel it. Something beneath Themyscira has awakened."

"Beneath Themyscira?" Suddenly remembering something, Wonder Woman used her divine authority to part the earth and peered below.

"Clayface—Heracles's army, exiled long ago—" An animated corpse raised his sword toward Wonder Woman. "I see confusion in your eyes."

"Theseus?" Wonder Woman froze. "It's you? Weren't you dead?"

"Those who fall in battle never sleep, Diana." Theseus climbed out from underground with the heroes of Ancient Greece. "Your day of reckoning has come, Amazons."

"Oh." Wonder Woman brought her hands together, and Themyscira closed back up, leaving Theseus and his companions inside. "Looks like your instincts were right, Mother. Something strange really is happening."

"Heracles's army has returned." Hippolyta sounded wistful. "Then what about the gods?"

"The gods?" Wonder Woman was puzzled. "Haven't almost all of them left?"

"I don't know, but I've been having this feeling lately," Hippolyta said. "My instincts have always been accurate."

"All right." Wonder Woman looked up at the sky. "The gods..."

"Tying me up here the moment I got back is really going too far," Captain Marvel said with a sigh, bound at the center of the Rock of Eternity.
