"Oh, so it's my sister-in-law." Hawkgirl paused, realizing something was off. "Wait, since when did you have an older sister?"
"Sekhmet, daughter of Ra," Hawkman said. "My father in my past life, Ramses II, was also an incarnation of Ra—though some people believed he was Ra's son, so the one who exploded might have been my aunt."
"No, why did she explode?" Hawkgirl was utterly bewildered. Nothing Hawkman had said so far made any sense to her.
"Wonder Woman did it. Blew her apart with one punch," Hawkman said. "Looks like they've noticed me, too."
"Won't you be in danger, then?"
"It should be fine. They're superheroes, too. They won't do anything to me." Hawkman watched Wonder Woman fly over and greeted her.
"A man with the wings of an eagle—who are you?" Wonder Woman asked Hawkman.
Hawkman introduced himself to Wonder Woman, then asked what had brought them here.
"The gods have descended upon the world again?" Wonder Woman's explanation sent shock waves through Hawkman's mind. "I never imagined something this big was happening—the chaos I sensed through the Nth metal was real."
"Uh—it's not really that big a deal." Wonder Woman didn't take the gods' appearance all that seriously. Even if the original gods returned, she could simply lead a force against them as King of the Gods, let alone these impostors formed from faith.
"Exactly." Superman nodded. With opponents at Sekhmet and Apollo's level, he felt no pressure whatsoever.
"Goodbye." Hawkman really had nothing left to say. Did this sound like a minor matter to them?
But remembering how Wonder Woman had just blown Sekhmet apart with a single punch, Hawkman shook his head. "I suppose disasters like these are nothing to true heroes—"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk—what a star-crossed couple." Roland sighed as he watched Hawkman leave.
