"A Green Lantern was killed. It had to be an invading army for the Guardians to send us in," Green Lantern said after a moment's thought.
"This looks more like breeding than an invasion," Kilowog said. "We don't know much about them yet. Apparently, no one who's encountered them has survived to tell us anything."
"Oh? They're that dangerous?"
"The good news is that they're in a remote part of the planet and haven't threatened any major population centers yet. We need to make sure they never get the chance."
"Let's hope it's as simple as it sounds. Though for some reason, I doubt it." Green Lantern paused. "Luckily, I brought some guys who can hold their own in this universe, too."
"Uh, what are you talking about?" Kilowog asked, puzzled.
"I mean I'm requesting permission to break off from the team," Green Lantern said. "I brought a few friends. Let us scout ahead."
"That's dangerous!" Kilowog flatly refused.
Green Lantern didn't care. As soon as he'd given them a heads-up, he left with Roland and the others. The remaining Green Lanterns couldn't even keep up.
"They're all from Sector 2814, aren't they?" Kilowog stared after them. In the blink of an eye, even their backs had vanished. "Is that planet really so terrifying?"
"Looks like it." The other Green Lanterns nodded. Their speed alone was more than they could handle.
"We might be able to sit this one out," Tomar-Re said. "That Kryptonian with them is no ordinary fighter. Even together, we wouldn't stand a chance against him."
Tomar-Re was the Green Lantern of Sector 2813, which had once been home to a famous planet: Krypton.
