"Trust Roland to find new ways to surprise us," Nightwing sighed. "Hold on tight, sweetheart."
"Okay." Starfire nodded and grabbed Nightwing around the neck.
"Uh—don't worry, I've got another way!" Roland said awkwardly as Magnetic Force spread rapidly around him. "Magnetic Field Rotation, Formless Creation!"
Magnetic Force broke down the plane, now split in two. Countless enormous birds appeared out of thin air and caught its passengers.
The display of power drew attention from beings in several places.
"That move?" Lucifer set down his glass in the Time Bar.
"Roland?" Michael's brow twitched in Heaven. He wondered what to make of it.
"He's touched the authority of God. Interesting." In a Gotham parking lot, a janitor watched Roland while eating a hamburger.
"What an unpleasant feeling." At a nightclub near the Time Bar, the Mother of All frowned. She tossed a man who had secretly slipped something into her drink into the sky. His body became a terrifying hurricane that blew toward Roland.
"Ouch. Talk about taking it out on someone else." Lucifer opened a window and watched the strange hurricane. "Shame. It would've been wonderful if she'd used that on the old bastard."
"What happened, big brother?" A little blonde girl with a doll-like face came up beside Lucifer.
"It's nothing, Rose. Your aunt's angry." Lucifer gently picked her up. "Did she frighten you?"
"Not really," Rose said. "But why is Auntie angry?"
"You'll understand when you're older." Lucifer smiled. Even the leader of the fallen angels preferred to fob children off.
"Hmph. You always say that," Rose complained.
"Come on, let's go upstairs and read. I bought you some new picture books today: Michael and the Three Little Pigs, Gabriel and Little Red Riding Hood, and Raphael and Snow White Elaine."
"Did you really buy them?"
"Of course."
