After eating and drinking their fill, everyone left the hotel together, hosts and guests alike thoroughly satisfied.
The Head Chef and his cooks followed them out, looking exhausted as they hung a sign on the hotel door announcing that they would be closed tomorrow.
There was no helping it. These people had not only emptied the hotel's entire stock of ingredients, but had nearly worked the cooks into workplace injuries. Even if the hotel wanted to open, it simply couldn't.
"Huh? Why did it suddenly start raining?" Batman was the first outside. He found that the perfectly fine weather had abruptly given way to dark clouds, with a downpour about to begin.
"No idea. The weather's been weird lately. We even ran into a hurricane back in Gotham City," Barbara said. "Then, just as it was about to hit us, it vanished for no reason."
"Maybe the Lazarus Rain changed Earth's environment," Roland guessed.
"That's possible too." Roland used his psychic power to raise a transparent barrier above everyone's heads, keeping the rain off them.
Honk, honk. A large truck slowly pulled up and stopped in front of them. Even through the rain, the rumble of its engine and the soft swish of its wipers sounded clear.
"Oh?" Roland saw the driver through the window. "Strange—this isn't an ordinary person."
The truck driver was dressed like an old farmer, in a plaid shirt, jeans, and a yellow cowboy hat, with a few bits of straw on his shoulders. It clashed terribly with his handsome face, white hair, and red eyes, giving him the bizarre air of Lin Daiyu at a rural cooperative.
"Hello." The window rolled down, and the truck driver greeted them before looking at Roland. "It's raining. Want to sit in the truck?"
