"Old Mr. Morris, you really are forgetful," the slave sneered. "Have you forgotten the brother you sent to the arena to feed the lions seven days ago?"
"It's you?" The steward reeled in shock. Before he could cry out, a sword pierced his chest.
"How dare you resist a search!" Nightwing shouted. "There must be something wrong here. Charge in!"
The slaves surged into the mansion and clashed with its owners.
"If you have a score to settle, settle it! Anyone who didn't live here before, go haul out the valuables. Leave the people to the other brothers!" Francis ordered. "Move quickly. We've got another house to visit after this!"
"Yes!" the slaves chorused, carrying out everything valuable in the house. The few who had once been slaves there began settling old scores.
"Hurry up. We still have another house to visit," Nightwing urged the slaves.
"Yes!"
"Why do I get the feeling you're pretty used to doing this?" Francis asked, puzzled.
"Obviously. Batman and I dealt with plenty of home invasions. I know this routine inside out." Nightwing shrugged. "Too bad Roland and Batman aren't here. They're more professional than I am."
"I don't think that's why Roland is so professional..." Francis nodded. "You really are a professional. At this
rate, we can hit a few more houses."
"Exactly." Nightwing beckoned everyone forward, and they surged toward the next destination.
