"They're all about the same." Roland casually picked up a handful of gold coins and weighed them in his hand. "For the next little while, until the uprising, we'll need to keep a slightly lower profile."
"A low profile? Why does that sound so strange coming from you?" Nightwing raised an eyebrow.
"You're getting awfully chatty." Roland patted Nightwing's head. "You should be careful too. Even though you were operating under Avaritia's banner before, the holes in your cover were pretty obvious. Someone paying attention might notice you."
"Of course I know that." Nightwing nodded.
"And Roy and Rachel need to keep themselves hidden too. Contacting Christians is a pretty sensitive matter these days."
"They've already gone into hiding with the remaining Christians," said Beast Boy, who handled communications. "The two of them are training in seclusion. Seems like they're cooking up something big."
"You guys should put in some more effort too," Roland told them. "This is a great chance to create and learn new skills. It'd be a shame to waste it."
"I've got a few ideas myself," Nightwing said. "By the time I get back, I bet even Batman won't be a match for me."
"...It's good to have that kind of confidence." Roland figured Nightwing's dream of overthrowing the established order probably wouldn't come true. Batman would just learn his moves, then say, "Because I'm Batman." What could Nightwing do about that?
"Have you noticed anything off?" Jason asked Roland.
"Off how?"
"The numbers don't add up." Jason counted off the people who had appeared. "Me, Garfield, Cassie, Donna, Astra, Kara, Francis, Rachel, Roy, Dick. That's only ten, right?"
"Where are the other two?" Roland was puzzled too. With a beacon as obvious as Beast Boy, they should have found them long ago.
"Hard to say."
