"Sold out" was actually a fairly common sight on the Pet Beast Alliance's store pages.
After all, Lin Yuan had been managing a shop for over two years. He knew all its procedures, large and small.
For graded products, this was a good thing in most cases.
When demand outstripped supply, people would naturally place advance orders, and some would visit the physical pet food shop to build a good relationship.
If the product was more unusual, major shops and even Lineages would come knocking to request a partnership.
So, in a sense, the platform provided by the Pet Beast Alliance was more than just the fastest, most convenient marketplace. It was also a "foot in the door"—the first step toward opening up more ways to cooperate.
Lin Yuan wasn't sure whether [Spirit Dew], as a transcendent-quality product, was already capable of opening that door.
Everything would have to wait until these customers had used the product and given their feedback.
Through the Pet Beast Alliance's official store channel, payment could be transferred to Yuanming Pet Food Shop's account as soon as the customer confirmed receipt.
Lin Yuan had begun preparing the moment the first order arrived in the backend.
Measuring the exact number of milliliters, putting it into specially made little bottles, then packaging them—he had performed these steps countless times over the past two years.
With Ling Huan helping, they finished quickly. After all, there were only six customers' orders.
Even after scheduling a pickup with the [Courier Bird], Lin Yuan still couldn't quite settle down.
From his awakening the day before yesterday, to yesterday's trip to the cultivation center and Zilan's evolution, to today's rapid sellout of [Spirit Dew].
He had received too many wonderful surprises.
So many that none of it felt real.
He knew he simply hadn't adjusted to the new rhythm of his life yet.
That rhythm might make him busier, but it would also give him more control.
The [Courier Bird] that flew in that morning was in a completely different state from when it came at night. It was full of energy, and its body wasn't nearly as tired.
It was still the same familiar "old friend."
Once again, it gave Lin Yuan a couple of extra looks, stowed the six packages in its [Treasure Pouch], and quickly flew away.
The Pet Beast Alliance's delivery network was extraordinarily fast.
[Courier Birds] were only responsible for point-to-point deliveries within the same region, but rapid [Spatial Transmission] also existed between different cities.
This transportation system had been established by a legendary [Space]-type pet beast in the Chenlong Kingdom.
Thus, even shipments to Bluegreen City, thousands of kilometers northwest of Lin Hua City, could usually arrive within a day.
Such were the remarkable convenience and efficiency brought about by the age of pet beasts.
That evening.
Liu Xing returned home and immediately hurried toward his little cultivation base.
A few hours earlier, he had received a message from his butler:
"Young master, I've unpacked the top-grade, transcendent-quality flower dew or spirit liquid you asked me to buy and placed it outside Jinjin's cultivation room."
"This product, called [Spirit Dew], costs three times as much as [Butterfly Fragrance]. Its effects should be quite good."
After seeing that message, he had been somewhat "absent-minded" at work for the rest of the day.
He returned to the base.
Hearing Liu Xing's voice, Jinjin, the [Mist Spirit Spider], quickly scuttled up to him with a patter of feet.
The environment Liu Xing had created for Jinjin had allowed the spider to grow substantially accustomed to its metal-type energy in just a single day.
Now, it could already coat all eight legs with that energy, sharpening them and increasing its walking speed.
Looking at the scratches across the floor, Liu Xing felt a headache coming on.
The two pets he had bought yesterday were polar opposites in their attitudes toward him.
Jinjin was incredibly clingy and always wanted to show him its progress, but its metal energy was sharp. Over the past two days, it had scratched up quite a few of the furnishings he had carefully selected.
Zizi, the [Illusion Dream Butterfly], was utterly aloof toward him. It even treated his butler better than it treated him.
He had no idea what he had done wrong.
Ever since becoming a beast tamer, he felt he had treated his pet beasts very well. No pet beast had ever been so indifferent toward him before.
An inexplicable competitive urge stirred within him.
After interacting with Jinjin for a while, rather "halfheartedly," he headed straight for his destination.
Soon, he spotted the new product that had arrived today: [Spirit Dew].
It came in a small dropper bottle with very ordinary decoration, yet the liquid itself seemed to possess an otherworldly "air."
Even through the glass, he could smell the faint, refreshing fragrance it gave off.
Liu Xing picked up the dropper and walked into the flower beds, finding Zizi among a cluster of purple flowers.
Zizi's wings fluttered slightly, but it remained lazily perched on the flowers. It recognized Liu Xing's scent, so it didn't want to move.
Until it caught a scent that appealed to it immensely.
This was delicious food!
Food that smelled far better than the flower dew Liu Xing had fed it yesterday and this morning!
Butterfly pet beasts were exceptionally sensitive and picky when it came to flower dew products.
It immediately flew to Liu Xing's fingertip and slowly sipped the [Spirit Dew].
One drop wasn't enough. Another!
But after eating the second drop, Zizi's head began to feel woozy—this flower dew was still a little too nourishing for it.
It groggily raised its head.
It noticed that Liu Xing seemed to look "different."
Hmm, it was too dizzy to make out his features, but with those gold-rimmed glasses, he seemed about one percent closer to that good-looking human it had seen at the cultivation center the day before yesterday.
Oh well. Since he gave it such delicious food, accepting him wasn't out of the question.
With that thought, it flew into Liu Xing's palm and drifted off to sleep.
Meanwhile, Liu Xing's excitement was beyond words.
His painstaking efforts had finally been rewarded.
Sure enough, no pet beast could escape the lure of delicious food.
It seemed that [Spirit Dew] was the perfect bridge for building his relationship with Zizi.
Once their relationship improved, its secrets would be easier to uncover.
But there were only eight drops of [Spirit Dew] left now. He had to get Butler Zhou to buy more right away. Hmm, a stock of a hundred drops to start!
He gently placed Zizi back among the flowers and sent Butler Zhou a message.
"Butler Zhou, this [Spirit Dew] works very well. Buy another hundred drops for me!"
He had only just sent the message.
Then he noticed that Jinjin had come over at some point and was pressed against his foot, gazing longingly at the [Spirit Dew] in his hand.
As though saying, What that purple butterfly ate looked delicious. Can I try some too?
Looking at the light in Jinjin's little eyes, Liu Xing couldn't bear to refuse.
He fed it a drop.
Jinjin swallowed it. It tasted so good that the spider spun in a circle on the spot, then headed back home, looking a little tipsy.
On the way, it failed to control its metal-type energy and completely scuffed away the pattern on one of the floor tiles...
Liu Xing didn't notice.
All his thoughts were on the flower dew now.
"Well, now there are only seven drops left. They probably won't last two days."
"Does it really taste that good?"
He rarely saw different insect pet beasts drawn to the same food.
For instance, Jinjin wouldn't even spare [Butterfly Fragrance] a glance.
He immediately realized that this [Spirit Dew] was far more impressive than he had thought.
He took out his phone again and tapped out another message.
"Butler Zhou, send me the link to this shop. I'll handle any future purchases of this Spirit Dew myself."
For important supplies, Liu Xing felt he ought to pay closer attention himself.
If this pet food had broad applicability, it would also be a great help to his research and studies as a cultivator.
Meanwhile, as soon as Butler Zhou had received Liu Xing's request to buy another hundred drops, he had checked the product immediately. Discovering that it was sold out had given him something of a headache.
When he saw that Liu Xing intended to handle it himself, his face instantly lit up with delight.
He sent the link over at once...
At the same time.
At the largest shop in Lin Hua City.
Huang Tao, the owner of Yellow Crane Tower Shop, was examining the bottle of flower dew in his hand.
Only about five drops remained inside.
Beside him sat a large yellow dog that looked quite old, its eyes narrowed in sheer bliss.
He opened his phone and looked at the shop's information.
The name kept striking him as familiar.
Yuanming Pet Food Shop. Where had he heard of it before?
Hadn't his son mentioned it once or twice?
After a moment's thought, he immediately sent his son a message.
