Under cover of night, Mingyou crossed the bustling streets and entered a cold, shadowy alley. Using the map, he plotted Riolu's likely escape route and followed it with Sinistcha to a sewer outlet.

Sure enough, a pungent smell hit him as soon as he approached. A railing blocked the outlet, but no one guarded it. Two Grimer, drawn by the smell, were wriggling nearby.

"They barely treat the sewage, then dump it straight into the sea? What are the people in charge thinking? Do they really believe no one will notice?"

Mingyou frowned. It was like piling up all the trash a city hadn't managed to clear away before an inspection and hiding it somewhere, then dealing with it after the officials left.

Sunyshore City was a port city and a major consumer of electricity, with plenty of factories built nearby. Wastewater was bound to be an issue, but this was shameless.

"Bastards, wrecking the environment..."

Mingyou shook his head. He could hardly be bothered to curse them. He wondered if Cynthia would get involved, since this was already threatening the Wild Pokémon living nearby.

That was city life. His hometown, Levincia, was a little better. The noise kept him awake at night, and neon lights caused light pollution everywhere, but at least they didn't harm the surrounding environment.

He set the matter aside for now. Thankfully, the stench wasn't unbearable yet, so things couldn't be too severe. If the city cleaned it up quickly during the Lily of the Valley Conference, there should still be time...

He hopped over the railing, and they soon reached the sewer outlet. Water flowed out of it. Despite the awful smell, his flashlight revealed nothing unusual.

"Sini~"

Sinistcha waved its Tea Scoop, scattering matcha powder that smelled like cola to ease the stench.
