Levincia was the second-largest city in the Paldea Region, a world-famous hub of advanced technology and thriving commerce.

Day or night, Levincia glittered with colorful neon lights. Even the darkness looked like daylight. It was also Mingyou's hometown.

As Mingyou sent out his invitation to collaborate, it was nearly dawn in Paldea because of the time difference with Kitakami.

Even so, young people enjoying the nightlife were everywhere, a stark contrast to the quiet of Kitakami.

Levincia Gym stood near the battle plaza in the city center. Unlike other gyms in Paldea, it usually opened at noon and did not close until the early hours of the morning.

Iono had just finished her last battle of the day. The Gym Leader returned inside, collapsed onto a sofa, and wearily tossed aside the Rotom Phone she used for streaming.

Pokémon battles were exhausting. She streamed other things too, but her forte was battling and commentating in her quirky style. So despite how busy streaming kept her, she continued working as a Gym Leader.

"Seriously... My last few videos have been getting fewer and fewer views, and my stream numbers are plummeting. Even at tonight's peak, I couldn't crack the top thirty. Back in my prime, I topped the charts every time I streamed for three weeks straight..."

Iono kept grumbling. She had risen quickly by catching the early wave of livestreaming, but now that practically everyone owned a Rotom Phone, talented newcomers were flooding both livestream and short-video platforms.

She knew her recent videos and streams had suffered because of circumstances beyond her control. If she lost to people with real talent, she could accept being outclassed.

What she could not stand was getting overtaken by attention-seeking gamers, people throwing money at outdoor streams or staging cycling trips around the world
