Cynthia walked into the hotel room, casually removed her mask and hat, and set them with her bag on the coat rack by the door. Her gaze swept across the living room.
The hotel was close to the tournament venue. When she received Mingyou's message, she had just left the venue with Caitlin and Alder and was still nearby.
She had planned to find Shali and have dinner together, but she came here first. She also made up an excuse to have Caitlin draw Alder away.
Then she called herself Cabbage and slipped into the hotel under that name to avoid attracting attention. Truth be told, she rather liked the nickname.
Her gaze finally settled on N. A flicker of surprise crossed her delicate face before she smiled. "The International Police are looking for you everywhere, and you're hiding here of all places. If they find out, you and Mingyou will both end up behind bars."
"I've already been there once anyway."
Mingyou spread his hands and grumbled softly.
Cynthia turned toward him, looking utterly baffled, then returned her attention to N. She stepped forward and said, "Mingyou told me you need my help. I do like helping people, but I can't easily trust the former leader of a religious organization. You'll have to show me you're sincere!"

N answered earnestly. He knew she was testing him. Trust required a reason, especially when his identity really was a problem.
Cynthia nodded slightly and studied him closely. Though this was only their second meeting, she could clearly sense a change in him. The confusion that had clouded him seemed to have finally lifted, replaced by the resolve to shoulder responsibility.
