The ship cruised slowly through the night sky, its enormous gas envelope keeping it suspended steadily in the air. Rather than a spaceship, it was better described as an airship. Even the vessel beneath his feet looked a little like a sea-fishing boat.
"I've never seen a ship built like this... Did they convert it by adding a gas envelope and some other equipment?"
Mingyou stood on the deck and briefly surveyed his surroundings, observing the environment so he could get his bearings quickly. Aboard a ship in flight, his movements were limited, so he needed to gather information as soon as possible.
He knew there were other people inside the cabin. To avoid startling them and causing a misunderstanding, he didn't open the door. Instead, he strolled around the deck first.
"But where exactly am I? Wasn't I supposed to go back to Kitakami? Or did the Makeshift Time Machine malfunction? Don't tell me I'll have to knock on Arceus's front door to get home."
He glanced at the bracelet, which had stopped glowing, then took out his Rotom Phone. There was still no signal, confirming that this wasn't his original spacetime. The time display had stopped working long ago.
Just then, something struck his unprotected head hard. It felt as though someone had thrown a rock onto him from above. Caught completely off guard, he toppled forward and landed face-first on the deck with a thud.
"Ow, that hurt..."
Fortunately, he hadn't lost consciousness. Wincing in pain, Mingyou reached for the stone that had hit his head, sat up, and looked down at it in his hands.
Only then did he realize it wasn't a stone at all, but a dazzling cyan hexagonal crystal... Or rather, a tortoise-like Pokémon, waving its long, slender limbs and smiling at him.
