Ogerpon raised her Ivy Cudgel as Big Bear emerged from the fog carrying a heap of unfortunate people whose souls had been taken. She was almost certain.
She had never seen the monster clearly, but she had spotted that enormous shadow many times. It was the monster that had stolen her mask!
Mingyou's expression turned grim. He dared not attack recklessly. He had no idea what the bear intended to do with all those people, but they were only in a deathlike state. They could still be saved.
And rather than Big Bear, Second Bear seemed a better name. At least the color matched...
Its upper body, legs, and tail were covered in gray fur that looked like mud. Most of the fur on its paws had fallen away, leaving only a few patches; the rest was ochre, as though brown fur had faded over many years.
The fur on its back, both sides of its head, its waist, and its belly formed square patches, though several squares were visibly missing from its back.
Mud-gray fur covered almost its entire face. Less than a quarter of the upper right side was exposed, while three tufts of whiskers grew from its chin beneath a pale yellow muzzle.
Most striking was the blood-moon-shaped mark on its forehead and the darkness around its left eye, like a painted-on eye patch. It looked every inch an imposing mob boss!
