What did my parents ever do?

Gu Ze stopped in his tracks, for no other reason than that Ye Qing had bitten a little too hard just now, and the spot was starting to ache.

Ye Qing still wasn't satisfied. Perhaps it was too hard; he kept spitting it out.

Looking at the drool on his clothes, Gu Ze frowned. He was a bit of a neat freak, but there was nothing he could do about it now.

Unexpectedly, Ye Qing woke up halfway there. Seeing his wandering hands and the drool on Gu Ze's clothes, he recalled his dream and immediately felt awful.

"You're awake?"

Ye Qing kept his eyes open but said nothing.

I'm sleepwalking, sleepwalking. I'm sleepwalking.

"Are you sleepwalking, then?"

You got that right.

Gu Ze didn't expose him. He carried him steadily to bed, though as he left, he kept hearing someone muttering about how awkward and embarrassing it was.

But those abs felt pretty nice.

Gu Ze wasn't particularly interested in listening anymore.

The next morning, the two of them ate breakfast quietly.

"Brother Gu, thanks for taking me back to my room last night."

"How do you know I took you back?"

"Because I remember falling asleep afterward."

"Then do you know you were sleepwalking too?"

"Well, I think I do sleepwalk sometimes." Ye Qing laughed. "I wonder if I did anything bad while I was sleepwalking."

Gu Ze didn't expose him. "No."

Before going home, Ye Qing covered his injuries with concealer so his family wouldn't notice. Some marks still showed, but at least they weren't as obvious.

"Where did you go?" Ye Mother asked as soon as he walked in.

"Out for a run."

Ye Mother laughed. "Could you at least put a little effort into your lies? Look at what you're wearing. Does that look like a running outfit?"

"Hehe, you caught me."

"I just went out to have some fun and accidentally fell."

Ye Mother didn't actually believe him, but her child was grown now. They shouldn't comment on everything, as long as he could handle it himself.

"Oh, by the way, a friend of your dad's is coming today. Remember to come downstairs and say hello later."

"Are there any friends of Dad's I haven't met?"

"This one's a little different."

That piqued Ye Qing's curiosity. Ye Ci and Ye Chen had come home too.

By the time Ye Qing came downstairs, the guests had arrived. Ye Father and Ye Mother sat in the middle, with the guests opposite them and Ye Ci and Ye Chen on either side. For some reason, it looked a lot like a tribunal.

Amused by his own imagination, Ye Qing obediently greeted the guests after Ye Mother introduced them, then found a seat.

He looked at the guests, and what he discovered was quite something.

The couple were You Bo and Jiang You. As luck would have it, they had once been interested in Ye Mother and Ye Father, respectively. They were bona fide romantic rivals.

The problem was that they didn't like each other at all. They each had their own flings, and deep down, they still hadn't quite gotten over Ye Mother and Ye Father, though they didn't show it.

They even pretended to be especially affectionate. Just look at them feeding each other fruit.

How disgusting.

The Ye Family silently nodded. It really was disgusting. Being the same age as those two, the parents especially couldn't bear to watch.

Perhaps the couple felt they'd done enough, because they didn't do much more after that.

"We're planning to hold a party at home on Saturday. You absolutely have to come."

The Ye Family nodded. Yes, yes, they'd all go, as long as these two would hurry up and leave.

On Saturday, the couple came up to greet them as soon as they arrived at the party. Since they'd been told it was only a casual gathering, the Ye Family hadn't dressed too formally.

My parents are in for it tonight.

It turned out that the couple had ulterior motives for holding this party. People always said what you couldn't have was the best, so the two had put their heads together and decided to help each other at the party, plotting against Ye Mother and Ye Father respectively.

My God, what did my parents ever do to deserve this? Sure, they've taken great care of themselves and look just as good standing next to young people, but resorting to something like this is insane.

Ye Father and Ye Mother truly hadn't expected to face something like this one day.

Especially with the way their sons were looking at them. The feeling was beyond words.

Ye Qing thought it was absurd too, but now that he knew, he couldn't just ignore it. Meanwhile, Ye Ci had already disappeared from the party without him noticing.

Although he found it funny, he still had to deal with it. He didn't want an extra stepfather or stepmother either.

Ye Qing, however, tried to follow them upstairs and was stopped. Seeing that he couldn't go, he could only turn to Ye Ci.

"Big Brother, do you know..."

"It's fine. Don't worry," Ye Ci said in a low voice.

"Yeah, it's fine," Ye Chen added from beside him.

Ye Qing blinked. "You both know?"

"No, we're just taking precautions," Ye Ci replied. They couldn't exactly say they'd known all along.

Well, those are some pretty good precautions.

"Should we go upstairs and check on Mom and Dad?" Ye Chen asked. It had been ages, and no one had come down.

But when Ye Qing looked at Ye Chen, his expression didn't seem worried at all. Instead, he looked like he was waiting for a good show.

Just then, a scream came from upstairs. Without anyone needing to say a word, a crowd headed up.

After all, they'd looked around earlier and hadn't found their hosts. Worried that something might have happened, they could only go upstairs to check.

To their surprise, well, would you look at that—the host was upstairs, having sex with his wife in a room.

Sure, they were married, but this was still their own party. Doing something like this showed a complete disregard for their guests.

Some guests who had brought their daughters hurriedly covered the girls' eyes. In broad daylight, too. How disgraceful.

Ye Qing looked at his eldest brother and blinked, trying to convey a question with his eyes. Did you arrange this?

Ye Ci shook his head. "No. An accident."

The couple's son stepped forward and grabbed his parents. At the same time, he tried to get the guests to leave.

But everyone present was a person of standing. If they refused to leave, he couldn't force them. For a moment, no one moved.

Just then, two people came running upstairs and slapped the couple, one each.
