Background / History

Wen Su is the eldest son of the wealthy Wen Family. He is infatuated with Tang Yao, the Tang Family’s youngest son, despite Tang Yao repeatedly rejecting him. Tang Yao eventually went abroad partly to escape Wen Su’s persistent pursuit. Afterward, Wen Su went through a lovesick drinking binge before his friends suggested that he find a stand-in for Tang Yao 70 71.

Wen Su chose Bian Jing, a financially struggling student who resembled Tang Yao. He concealed his family background, pretended to be poor, and claimed to work as a waiter. Bian Jing believed they were two ordinary people building a future together, even using his own wages to buy things for Wen Su 70 72.

When Tang Yao returned, Wen Su immediately resumed pursuing him without properly ending his relationship with Bian Jing. He presented different stories to both men, portraying Bian Jing as merely a poor classmate he helped while continuing to act as Bian Jing’s devoted boyfriend 71 73.

Personality

Wen Su is entitled, manipulative, and unable to accept rejection. He treats persistence as proof of love, even when Tang Yao explicitly tells him to stop. Tang Yao’s refusal only encourages Wen Su, who insists that continued pursuit will eventually make Tang Yao fall for him 71.
