Background / History

Divine Service and Rivalry

Qian Daoliu became the Angel God’s Divine Servant after more than a decade of trials. Spreading her faith was his fundamental duty. He and Tang Chen fought hundreds of times, with victories and defeats on both sides, earning recognition as the Soul Master World’s Two Peaks. Qian Daoliu was reputed to be invincible in the sky, while Tang Chen held that reputation on land 27 28 52.

Failure to Protect Lin Feng

When Bibi Dong falsely accused Lin Feng of molesting her, Lin Feng appealed to Qian Daoliu as his last hope for a fair hearing. The Worship Hall remained closed, and Qian Daoliu refused to meet him. He subsequently watched Qian Xunji strip Lin Feng of his Soul Power and Soul Rings without intervening. Although troubled by the treatment of two Spirit Hall martyrs’ child, he placed his son’s authority above Lin Feng’s innocence and regarded opposition to the Qian family as insubordination 3 4.

After Bibi Dong inexplicably lost her Soul Power, Qian Daoliu blamed Qian Xunji for ruining both of Spirit Hall’s young talents. He beat his son unconscious, then gently reassured Bibi Dong and promised to search Spirit Hall’s historical records for a remedy. His Angel Divine Power could neither halt her power loss nor identify its cause 5 6.

Failed Reconciliation and Sea God Island Campaign

News of Lin Feng’s recovery prompted Qian Daoliu to demand that Qian Xunji apologize and bring him back. He offered to obtain hundred-thousand-year Soul Rings for Lin Feng’s remaining four rings and proposed sending the powerless Bibi Dong to the countryside. Qian Xunji resisted until another beating forced him to agree to attempt reconciliation 20.

The mission instead ended with Qian Xunji gravely wounded and two Spirit Hall elders dead. Qian Daoliu saved his son through prolonged treatment with Angel Soul Power, but concluded that reconciliation with Lin Feng was effectively impossible. He issued a bounty offering rewards ranging from Gold Soul Coins to Soul Bones, then pursued reports that Lin Feng had gone overseas 27.

His pursuit led him to Sea God Island, whose worship he branded heretical. He organized an invasion and persuaded Tang Chen to accompany him. The campaign failed: sea Soul Beasts destroyed ships, the Sacred Pillars strengthened the island’s defenders, and Bo Saixi defeated both leaders with the ocean’s power. Qian Daoliu conceded and secured mercy for Spirit Hall’s survivors, having lost hundreds of fighters without finding Lin Feng 27 28.

Qian Xunji’s Death and the Angel Heir

Returning to Spirit Hall, Qian Daoliu discovered that Bibi Dong had devoured Qian Xunji and was pregnant with his child. He attacked her in grief and anger, but spared her upon discovering that the unborn child was the Angel Lineage’s last direct heir. He confined her to Qian Xunji’s chambers and made her survival conditional on the child’s safety 28.

After seeing the destruction left by Lin Feng’s victory over Tang Chen, Qian Daoliu feared that Spirit Hall could not withstand its former disciple. He regretted permitting Lin Feng’s persecution and secretly planned to hand Bibi Dong over as an apology after she gave birth. Her threat to abort the child forced him to replace intimidation with deceptive reassurance 52.

Final Reckoning

When Lin Feng summoned witnesses to Spirit City, Qian Daoliu initially mistook their arrival for congratulations on Qian Renxue’s birth. Learning their actual purpose, he prepared for defeat. He entrusted his granddaughter to Golden Crocodile Douluo, asked that she be raised under another name, and sealed the Angel Holy Sword within her. He also offered the other Enshrined Elders a chance to leave; they chose to remain 62.

Qian Daoliu’s attempt to welcome Lin Feng back failed when Lin Feng publicly confronted him over his earlier silence. After Bibi Dong’s death, he asked to end the feud, but Lin Feng insisted that the elders and enshrined who enabled his persecution must answer for their choices 64 65.

Drawing on Angel Divine Power, Qian Daoliu fought Lin Feng above Spirit City. His domain could not overpower Lin Feng’s, and his close-range sword attack was reflected as a mental blow by Thorn Halo. Evil Eye Gaze then ravaged his soul, and Ice-Fire Dragon Claws tore open his chest. Divine power briefly delayed death but could not repair his destroyed mortal body 65.

Personality

Qian Daoliu’s professed chivalry conflicts with his loyalty to the Qian family and his ambitions for Spirit Hall. He knowingly permits Lin Feng’s persecution when Qian Xunji and Bibi Dong appear more valuable to the institution, then reverses course once Lin Feng recovers and Bibi Dong loses her strength. His attempts at reconciliation initially seek to recover a useful genius rather than acknowledge the full consequences of Spirit Hall’s wrongdoing 4 20 27 64.

He is harsh and physically violent toward Qian Xunji, yet repeatedly protects him because he is his son and has not passed on the Angel Bloodline. The same concern makes him preserve Bibi Dong despite her killing Qian Xunji 6 27 28.

His affection for Qian Renxue produces a more direct acknowledgment of responsibility. Before the final confrontation, he states that she is innocent of her family’s wrongs, arranges her escape, and tells Golden Crocodile not to avenge him. Nevertheless, his pride as a Peerless Douluo prevents him from retreating once Lin Feng challenges him 62 65.
