"Ah... Lupin..." Snape's gaze swept over Lupin and the Shrieking Shack. "I never thought you'd come back here..."
"Severus..." Lupin was a little nervous. Sirius was inside the shack, after all.
"I only want to know why you came here in such a hurry." Snape kept glancing toward the door. "Surely you aren't here to relive your school days? And you have enough potion, so why come here..."
Snape's gaze sharpened. "You wouldn't happen to be hiding some unspeakable secret, would you?"
"Severus," Lupin said, forcing himself to stay calm, "what are you talking about..."
"Meow!" A large ginger cat sprang out of the doorway and nearly landed on Snape, interrupting them.
"Damn cat!" Snape had the feeling he had seen it somewhere before.
Just then, Fisher, who had come to deliver food to the Black Dog, spoke up. "Professor Snape, what are you two talking about?"
Holding a large platter of meat, Fisher wondered why two Hogwarts professors were standing around discussing this haunted house. If Will hadn't paid so generously, Fisher wouldn't have come here at all. Still, judging by the papers he had read lately, that student Will was bound for great things. Looking after his dog gave Fisher a connection to him.
"Fisher, why are you carrying all that?"
"Your student Will paid me to look after a dog for him. He's even using this place as a kennel." Fisher set the platter on a stand by the door and offered no further explanation.
Fisher knew where to draw the line. All he had to do was take good care of Will's dog; there was no need to get involved in anything else.
As if to prove his point, a huge black dog poked its head out of the house, then quickly dragged the entire platter
