With the atmosphere at fever pitch, the Quidditch World Cup final officially began.
Will glanced idly at Krum, the Bulgarian Team's Seeker.
Krum was dark and thin, with sallow skin, a large hooked nose, and thick black eyebrows. He looked like an enormous eagle.
He was also one of this year's Triwizard Tournament participants.
There was no denying Quidditch's popularity in the Wizarding World. Even in the top box, plenty of people watched with rapt excitement, shouting out from time to time.
Will, however, remained expressionless. If he hadn't been thinking about a few questions of magic, he might have fallen asleep from boredom.
Only when the two teams started playing dirty, the fans clashed, and the Mascots began fighting did he perk up.
The Leprechauns rose into the air and made a universally understood rude gesture at the Veela across the pitch.
At last, the Veela changed. Their faces lost their beauty and became huge bird heads with thin, sharp beaks. Great scaled wings sprouted from their shoulders.
Once they became half-human, half-bird creatures, their magic structures changed as expected. They now resembled those of certain Magical Creatures. Some even looked similar to Hippogriffs.
But Will thought they also resembled another kind of being: Werewolves. The magic structures of their human forms seemed to have been twisted and overlaid, much like what he had seen in Lupin. The difference was that the Veela could control their transformation.
Quite a few Ministry of Magic staff rushed forward to stop the Veela from spitting fireballs at the Leprechauns. They clearly failed, and the pitch descended into even greater chaos.
Fans clashed in the stands. Leprechauns and Veela fought on the pitch. The Beaters from the Bulgarian Team and the Irish Team hurled Quaffles at each other's teammates, while both Seekers
