Bang!
Two enormous Giant Fish burst out of the water like a pair of deep-water torpedoes! Their silver scales reflected a cold gleam in the setting sun, and their huge tail fins beat the air, throwing up a curtain of spray.
Behind them, they hauled an enormous Silver-Gray Carriage over the waves, streams of water cascading from its frame and splashing down below.
Will Behrens sat on the left, one hand resting casually on the edge of the carriage. His expression was calm, as though he had just finished afternoon tea rather than competing in a tournament.
"Mr. Behrens has finally appeared!" Bagman roared.
The spectators stared, dumbfounded. Two seconds later, they erupted into thunderous cheers.
But before the cheering had died down, two spells suddenly shot out of the water, heading straight for Will.
Ivan and Sophie had spotted Will at the same time. They exchanged a glance, then both swam toward him.
"Stop him!" Ivan shouted.
"He has to be the last one ashore!" Sophie agreed.
In a rare moment of agreement, the two fired spells at Will simultaneously.
Will remained seated on the Fish Carriage, not even bothering to stand. He merely flicked his wand.
A silver barrier unfolded before him. Ivan's and Sophie's spells struck it, bursting into two showers of sparks before vanishing without a trace.
"Brilliant!" Bagman exclaimed. "Mr. Behrens has blocked both attacks with a Shield Charm! He hasn't even stood up!"
Ivan gritted his teeth and fired another Blasting Curse at the carriage, but a droplet of water suddenly transformed into a nimble bird. It collided with the curse and burst into a cloud of mist.
Sophie followed up with a Stunning Spell, but it achieved nothing. Will's Shield Charm was far too quick.
The Fish Carriage continued forward without slowing.
