"Stupefy."
A silver-red beam shot from the tip of Will's wand and struck a Dark Wizard. He had pushed Magic Amplification on this Stupefy as far as he currently could.
Then—boom!
The Dark Wizard exploded...
Will stared. The Dark Wizard had been blown apart, flesh and bone fragments spraying in every direction. The stench of blood filled the cell. Will had been standing far away, but bits of flesh and bone had still splattered onto him.
Will waved his wand and cast Scourgify, shaken.
Ancient Magic had amplified the spell far more than he had expected. An ordinary Stunning Spell merely knocked someone unconscious. Amplified by Ancient Magic, it struck with the force of a Blasting Curse.
It could amplify a spell that much?
Will considered it. If an ordinary offensive spell could do that, what about Dark Magic?

A silver-green beam shot from the wand tip. It was not the usual light of a Killing Curse. Silver-white and green intertwined in Will's spell like two coiling snakes.
Will narrowed his eyes, watching to see how the Killing Curse would be amplified. Once the beam left his wand, it split in midair into two streaks, each hurtling toward a different Dark Wizard.
Green light struck them both in the chest.
They stiffened at the same time, eyes wide and mouths open, then fell together.
A double kill.
Will straightened and stared at the two bodies, still trying to take it in.
So amplifying the Killing Curse made it split and strike multiple targets at once. According to conventional Dark Magic theory, that was nearly impossible—and terrifying.
The Killing Curse specifically targeted
