"Of course, Professor." Will nodded.

"Slurp... Let's talk in the Headmaster's Office." As Dumbledore finished speaking, Fawkes gave a soft cry. Will and Dumbledore vanished, leaving two flashes of flame where they had stood.

The Headmaster's Office was as familiar as ever. Dumbledore had already finished his ice lolly.

"Will, if you mean to restrain yourself, why did you use the Imperius Curse and Obliviate on Umbridge?" Dumbledore pulled out a heap of sweets and picked up a Chocolate Frog. "Oh, no need to wonder. I placed detection spells in her office beforehand. They record every spell cast inside, much as they did in Harry's case."

"Well..." Will rubbed Fawkes's head. "Is it possible she cast the Imperius Curse and a Memory Charm on me?"

Dumbledore stared at Will as if to say, Do you really expect me to believe that?

Dumbledore unwrapped the Chocolate Frog and pulled out its card. "If Umbridge could threaten you, she might be our greatest enemy apart from Tom—oh, it's my card again.

"Hmm... I suspect they've put far too many of these in. This is the third time I've drawn my own Chocolate Frog Card this week.

"Now, where were we? Why did you use the Imperius Curse on her?"

"Honestly," Will said, a little helplessly, "couldn't you have listened in on Umbridge too?

"For one thing, Fudge sent her here to strip you of your authority. For another, she wants Lupin gone, and she even wants him to hurt someone by accident. Isn't that driving him to his death? I doubt you want to see Lupin sent to Azkaban.

"Besides, I think you're right about the cards. As far as I know, Harry has collected seven of yours, Ron has five, and Neville has five."

Dumbledore turned the Chocolate Frog Card over.
