"I'm already learning, Professor." Harry turned away from Snape and looked at the desserts on the floor. "I need a little time."
Snape had just overturned the table, sending desserts everywhere. Cream smeared the dirty floor in stark contrast, and the sweet smell filled Harry's nose, but he had no appetite.
"No." Dumbledore shook his head. "There's no time left, Harry."
Harry stared at him. "What?"
"There's no time. You've seen something concerning Will, so we can't spare any more of it," Dumbledore said gravely. "All your other lessons will stop. You'll undergo intensive training like you did in your second year, but this time, it will be Occlumency.
"For now, you can only stay in Snape's office or—"
Before Dumbledore could finish, Harry and Snape spoke almost at once.
"I'll go somewhere else!" "My office is not a Troll farm!"
Dumbledore sighed. Another slice of cake appeared on the table, and he picked it up and took a bite. "I'd hoped you two might learn to get along. How is Harry supposed to learn Occlumency like this?"
"Professor, what's happened to Will? What danger is he facing?" Harry pressed.
"You can learn that once you've mastered Occlumency. Don't ask again, Harry." Dumbledore stuffed the rest of the cake into his mouth.
Disgust crossed Snape's face. "Then he'll never find out. Potter has plainly inherited his father's Troll brain. In my opinion, you'd be better off having Filius teach him."
"That's enough, Severus. You and Filius will take turns teaching him. Your skill is higher, after all," Dumbledore decided.
"I—"
"Severus, remember what Harry saw concerning Will." Dumbledore was uncharacteristically firm. "That's settled. No more discussion. I'm taking Harry there now."
Fawkes appeared at just the right moment. Flames flared, and Dumbledore and Harry vanished.
