"Will?" Dumbledore and Harry both looked startled.
"I came to see you, Professor," Will said. "Are you two finished talking?"
"We may need a few more minutes."
"I'll wait outside." Will had no intention of getting involved. He had come to discuss transforming Werewolves and getting rid of Umbridge. She was insufferable.
"Sorry to keep you waiting, then." Dumbledore was warm toward Will.
Harry watched Will close the door, still curious. What dangerous thing was Will going to do? Had he joined the Order of the Phoenix?
But he remembered George and Fred telling him during the summer holiday that underage Wizards weren't allowed to join.
A few minutes later, Dumbledore opened the door. "Let's walk and talk. What's happened?"
As they headed downstairs, Will cast a Secrecy Charm. "Your approach was right. The problem of transforming Werewolves is mostly solved. It should take another experiment or two at most."
"So Lupin could be free of it before Christmas? That would make a wonderful Christmas present. I'm sure he'll be delighted."
"Yes." Will nodded. "Though it could happen sooner if we solve one small technical problem."
"Oh? Is that why you came to see me?" Dumbledore asked lightly.
"Of course. As the greatest Wizard alive, you're the person I'd most like to ask for guidance."
"No need to flatter me, Will," Dumbledore said. "What is the problem?"
"Is there a way to let Werewolves transform whenever and wherever they want?" Will thought for a moment. "Or to simulate a full-moon night and trigger the transformation?"
After all, Werewolves in this world could not control their transformations or initiate them. They only turned into mindless beasts on nights of the full moon.
