Corban Yaxley felt much more at ease. Will was a good ally, skilled at magic, and had even saved his life.
Now that Will had been cleared of suspicion as a spy, Corban was glad the Dark Lord had such a capable, skilled, and loyal student.
Though Corban occasionally sensed something odd, he always pushed it aside. He no longer seemed to remember how hostile he had been toward Will when they first met.
Luther hurried over when he saw Corban come out, excitement flickering across his face. He'd heard that Behrens might be a spy! The Dark Lord had just called away the senior Death Eaters through Mr. Malfoy, probably to discuss what to do about it!
Behrens, you're done for!
"Uncle Corban, have they confirmed that Behrens is a spy? Should we—"
Smack! Corban Yaxley struck like lightning.
A bright red handprint appeared on Luther's face. He saw stars and stood there stunned.
"Uncle, you—I—"
"Shut up, Luther. I'm warning you for the last time: Mr. Behrens cannot be a spy!" Corban's stern tone frightened Luther. "If you say anything that foolish again, you can stop following me! Go home and stay there!"
Luther: "???"
I'm your own nephew, Uncle Corban!
Luther felt like crying, but Corban gave him no chance to speak. "Come with me. Stop making a spectacle of yourself!"
He was protecting Luther, too. If the Dark Lord heard him say such a thing, his foolish nephew would be in serious trouble.
Elsewhere, Lucius dragged Wander Parkinson, whose limbs were still weak, into the Malfoy family's Floo Network room.
Wander looked wretched. Even Lucius's hands trembled at the sight of him. After all, he had suffered the Dark Lord's Cruciatus Curse; it was painful just to watch.
Lucius pulled Wander onto a sofa. Seeing that
