What happened that night seemed to stay locked inside the office. Afterward, Percy went on as usual: teaching classes, docking points, reporting to the Ministry of Magic, and handing work over to Macnair. He missed nothing.

George and Fred resumed their pranks on him the next day. Percy retaliated by finding fault with them in History of Magic, giving them detention, and making them clean the corridors on two floors.

A few days later, on a sunny afternoon, one of Hogwarts' most popular classes—Flying Class—was in full swing above the lawn outside Hogwarts Castle.

Harry wasn't riding his Firebolt. Flying Class required them to use the school's old broomsticks, but he didn't mind. He pushed off hard, and his broomstick obediently rose into the air.

Flying Class was his favorite. Nothing made him feel freer than soaring into the wind. Harry glanced at Will in the distance.
