Three days later, Madam Pomfrey let Will out of the Hospital Wing, though not before glaring at him as if to say, If you dare work yourself half to death again, I'll pickle you in a potion jar.
As Will stepped outside, the morning sunlight struck him as rather harsh.
He narrowed his eyes and looked toward the top of the Castle. He needed to see Dumbledore. When he woke that morning, he had found a Paper Crane from the old bee, asking him to come to the Headmaster's Office as soon as he was discharged.
So Will set off for the Headmaster's Office with a spring in his step.
"Hazelnut almond chocolate." The password to the Office was still a dessert.
"You're here early, Will. I thought Madam Pomfrey would keep you at least another day." Dumbledore smiled. "Come in. I'm trying some new sweets from Honeydukes. They sent me a batch specially."
"Thank you, Professor, but I don't feel like anything too sweet in the morning." Will glanced at the assortment of desserts on Dumbledore's desk.
In front of Dumbledore sat a dish of silver jelly filled with sparkling bits and pieces.
"Oh? You're sure you won't try it? It's Honeydukes' new Stardust Pudding." Dumbledore offered him a silver spoon with a smile. "I think the sweetness is just right."
A flicker of alarm crossed Will's face. Then it could probably kill an ordinary person with sweetness. Does the old bee really not realize that?
Dumbledore nudged his half-eaten pudding aside. "So, Will, how are you feeling?"
"Completely recovered, Professor," Will replied. "I have even more energy than before."
"Good." Dumbledore's gaze was gentle. "Yesterday, I experienced your Happiness Charm."
"So, do you have an idea of how to modify it?"
