Everyone at the door turned to look at Will.
Besides Neville, Augusta, and Algie, there were several Wizards Will did not recognize, though he assumed they were relatives of the Longbottom family.
Under their hopeful gazes, Will nodded. "Overall, they're doing fairly well. If all goes smoothly, they should begin to recover once they wake up. After that, they'll need a long period of rest."
His words were met with a moment of silence.
Then the cheering began.
"Wonderful!" Algie shouted. His drowsiness vanished, and he clapped his hands hard in excitement.
Clap!
Only then did everyone seem to come to their senses. Joy spread across their faces, and Mrs. Longbottom wiped away tears on the spot.
Neville's eyes and nose were red. His lips moved as though he wanted to say something, but the others' voices drowned him out.
"This is wonderful!"
"Frank and Alice... finally..."
"Is it true?! Merlin's beard, they've finally had some good luck."
Within moments, the noise grew a little too loud.
"Quietus." Will cast a Silencing Charm.
The commotion dropped to a murmur, while Will's voice remained clear. "They need quiet and rest right now. Please don't disturb them. Let them sleep."
"Then... may I go in and see them?" Neville raised his hand as though asking to speak in class.
"Of course. All of you can, as long as you're quiet and don't wake them." Will stepped aside.
Neville's face flushed with excitement. He rushed to the door, but froze for a moment when he gripped the handle. At last, he pushed it open.
Algie and several other members of the Longbottom family followed him in, keeping their footsteps quiet.
Mrs. Longbottom did not hurry inside. She came up to Will, glanced at the family gathered around the two beds, and bowed deeply.
