When everyone saw that Will had arrived by Apparition, they were first astonished by his magical prowess, then rose to welcome him.
"Not late at all! We haven't officially started yet. How could you be late?"
"We're already honored that Mr. Behrens could spare time from his busy schedule..."
"Everyone has seen Mr. Behrens's contributions to the wizarding world. How could we take up any more of his time?"
"And you even brought us gifts. You're truly generous, Mr. Behrens..."
The High Tower's ordinary members all wore smiles. Not one of them said Will was late.
Everyone was happy to flatter him. With Will's fame already widespread and his future clearly bright, hardly anyone was foolish enough to do otherwise.
After all, no one who had passed the screening to enter the High Tower was an idiot.
Will took his seat with a gentle smile and snapped his fingers. "Let's hand out the gifts first. There are two things in all."
Two chests, one large and one small, appeared beside him.
"First, this."
The larger chest opened, and over a hundred notebooks flew out, landing in front of everyone.
"What are these?" Hermione looked at the pile of notebooks, puzzled.
But the moment she opened one, excitement flared in her heart.
"These are my personal notes," Will explained with a smile. "Everyone gets a copy. They contain some of my insights from studying, along with my understanding of the various subjects.
"I personally recommend focusing on charms, potions, ancient runes, Transfiguration, and dark magic. I should be fairly accomplished in those subjects."
These were only some of Will's notes. They contained none of his important research, only Hogwarts coursework and some knowledge from his supplementary lessons. Even so, that knowledge alone was precious enough.
"Mr. Behrens's notes?"
"I never thought
