Progress on the Magical University
In the dark alley, Will began to capture the Test Subject.
There's really no trick to it. Knockturn Alley is basically devoid of proper Wizard anyway. Will just needs to capture the Wizard in the vicinity one by one, do a quick memory search, and then decide whether to release them or use them as Test Subject.
After a busy afternoon, Will finally had some results, as evidenced by the cage he was carrying—it contained dozens of rats, their eyes gleaming with a human-like light, though mostly with fear.
That night.
Will first cast Sleeping Charm on the rats, stuffing them into the Book Trunk, even though Will had previously stuffed them into his basement.
But now, Will doesn't want to leave any trace.
Walking through his own Book Trunk, Will realized that it had been a long time since he had seriously read a book here; he mostly spent Library time in the Room of Requirement or the High Tower these days.
Because this is essentially half a prison cell, and there's only one long-term prisoner— Bellatrix.
"You damned bastard! You madman! What do you want?! If you have the guts, kill me! Kill me! My Master will tear you to pieces! My Master will avenge me!"
She was currently locked in a cell built by Will; the few square meters of space were her entire world.
Will would prepare some food and water for her, followed by some Draught of Living Death.
Bellatrix basically just ate and slept, but Will gave her very little food, barely enough to sustain her, so she became increasingly thin.
Moreover, spending so much time in this kind of space seemed to make her increasingly mentally unstable.
You can tell from the fact that she dared to yell at Will.
"Cruciatus Curse!" Will pointed casually. This was the Charms she loved to use on others, and now it was also Will's favorite Charms to use against her.
The Cruciatus Curse struck Bellatrix in the chest, and she screamed in agony.
Her screams echoed here, and her body curled up as if her bones had been removed.
Will didn't use a very powerful, Cruciatus Curse; he simply maintained an intensity that caused her excruciating pain but didn't cause her to faint.
A few seconds later, Bellatrix collapsed to the ground, gasping for breath, her prison uniform soaked with cold sweat.
His disheveled hair obscured half his face. "Kill me... kill me..."
Judging from her appearance, she would most likely commit suicide if given the chance, so Will even put her food in the dog bowl to prevent her from doing so.
This humiliation naturally tormented Bellatrix, who had a high opinion of herself.
But Will didn't care, or rather, Will wanted to humiliate her like this. He didn't care if he drove Bellatrix crazy, because Bellatrix was just a tool.
"Kill you?" Will looked down at Bellatrix and chuckled. "You think you still have your life and death in your hands?"
The thing you should be most grateful for now is that you didn't become an experimental subject, Cruciatus Curse.
Another Cruciatus Curse, and Bellatrix screamed and fainted. Will settled the rats around her, took a book from the Library, and turned to leave.
The night passed by while I was studying.
The following morning, Will traveled to the America.
Will didn't go to Louisiana; he went to New York first.
Headquarters of the Magical Congress of the United States of America, President's Office.
A middle-aged man was sitting behind a desk, looking down at documents. There was a sign with his name on the desk.
Samuel G. Cohog.
Going back to work just two days after Christmas, I must say, Cohog is indeed quite competent.
Hearing the noise, he slowly raised his head.
The serious-looking man's expression changed from confusion to shock when he saw Will, and then quickly turned to respect.
He immediately stood up, walked around the desk, and strode over to Will.
"Mr. Behrens," his voice trembled with excitement and a hint of nervousness, "What brings you here?"
Will sat down in the chair opposite him.
"Just wanted to wish you Joy Christmas," Will said calmly, "And also, inquire about the Magical University."
Will sat down naturally, while Cohog sat down opposite him, looking somewhat nervous, like a subordinate being inspected by his boss.
"The location has been chosen," Cohog said, "in Salzkammergut Austria."
Salzkammergut is a cultural landscape area located at the border of the Austria Salzburg State, Upper Austria State, and Styria State, specifically referring to Lake Traun and the Hallstatt salt mine area.
Will nodded. Salzkammergut was indeed a nice place, with its lakes, mountains, and underground salt mines.
"The only problem is..." Cohog paused, "This place doesn't seem like the place where Hogwarts or Ilvermorny were founded."
Some Muggle will be traveling to Salzkammergut; however, this is harmless, as we have already arranged for a large-scale Muggle-Repelling Charm to be placed in this area, so the Muggle can simply ignore it.
The joint inspection team has already conducted two site surveys and found a suitable location for building a school.
Will nodded.
"We are preparing to start construction in early January next year, which is just a few days away. The entire project is expected to take six to seven months."
"So, which professors are you planning to invite? After all, faculty strength is very important."
"Of course, after detailed discussions with officials from the England Ministry of Magic, we decided to invite top experts from various disciplines."
Hearing this, Will frowned. "You've decided on the subjects?"
Cohog replied matter-of-factly, "Of course, it's the same old stuff: Charms, Potions Class, Transfiguration..."
Will raised his hand to interrupt him, "Wait, if it's still the same old story, why did we even establish Magical University?"
Now it was Cohog's turn to be stunned. "But if we don't study these things, what subjects should Magical University have?"
"Of course, it's about developing all disciplines, with each discipline further subdivided," Will said matter-of-factly. "The river of Magic is endless; how can we achieve progress if we just stand still?"
"But... how should we differentiate them?" Cohog frowned. "This is how the Wizarding World has been teaching for so many years."
"No," Will waved his hand, "If the Magical University follows the old system, then the university will have been established in vain."
Think about it, how many schools of thought have emerged throughout the history of Magic? But how many of them have truly developed to this day?
"But..." Cohog still found it hard to accept, "Most of the schools of thought are meaningless; many are wrong and have no future."
"Don't always judge things by appearances," Will shook his head. "Do you think Spell-Potion Transmutation School would be effective?"
Cohog: "To be honest... most of the time I feel like I'm not making any difference."
Will waved his Wand, Cohog immediately felt a surge of heat coursing through his body, and his senses became sharper. Suddenly, he felt much more at ease facing Mr. Behrens.
"This is?"
"Felix Felicis, or rather... the Felix Charm."
Cohog's eyes nearly popped out of his head. "This... this... this..."
He certainly knew about Felix Felicis, but he never imagined that Felix Charm existed.
Will smiled. "So, do you still think the Potion-Charm Conversion school of thought is useless?"
Cohog was speechless, only able to shake his head blankly. "..."
However, Will knew he was special; for someone else, it might take a lifetime to complete a single study.
But... how many people are there in this world?
Will established the Magical University to allow the Wizarding World to develop on its own. He couldn't lead the Wizarding World forward forever; that wouldn't be the God of Magic.
That was the Wizard's Nanny.
