Hagrid wanted to lead the students closer to the imposing Hippogriffs, but the moment they saw those sharp talons, they instinctively backed away, afraid of getting hurt.
"Actually, Hippogriffs aren't that frightening!" Hagrid reassured them. "They can be bad-tempered, but remember, they're magical creatures bred from griffins and horses. They're proud by nature. As long as you don't deliberately provoke or insult them, they'll leave you alone."

"Don't be impulsive, Jerry! It's too dangerous," Hermione whispered, keeping her eyes fixed on the agitated Hippogriffs. "Hagrid's rushing things. I can't believe he wants us to handle such dangerous creatures in our very first lesson."
"Don't worry. I'm not interested in this sort of magical creature!" Jerry shrugged and smiled. Of course, that would be another matter if Hagrid offered to give him a Hippogriff.
"I'll do it." Hearing the plea in Hagrid's voice, Harry sighed helplessly, then
