"This is wonderful! Everything worked out!" Hermione leaned against Jerry's shoulder and let out a long sigh of relief. "Buckbeak is safe, too."
"It's not over yet!" Jerry gently patted Hermione's back and reminded her, "You have about ten minutes left. You need to hurry and sneak back to the Hospital Wing before Dumbledore locks the door."
"What about you?" Hermione stood up and gave Jerry a puzzled look. "Aren't you coming back with us? Where are you going now?"
"Don't you get it yet?" Jerry looked at Hermione helplessly. "Have you forgotten what happened to you before you met Harry and me?"
"Oh, right!" Realization dawned on Hermione, and she covered her mouth with her hand. "Back then..."
"Don't say any more. You two need to hurry back!" Jerry urged. "I'll see you in the Hospital Wing!"
"What are you two talking about now?" Harry had just torn his gaze away from the sky and was looking at Hermione and Jerry in confusion.
"Nothing. Harry, we need to go!" Hermione quickly grabbed Harry's sleeve and slipped into the Castle with him, leaving him looking bewildered.
Jerry watched Harry and Hermione disappear into the distance and shook his head slightly. Then he took a deep breath and pulled the Time-Turner from his pocket, a flicker of hesitation crossing his eyes. After a brief moment of thought, however, he decided to risk it and slowly turned the Time-Turner.
As his surroundings warped and shifted, Jerry returned to three hours earlier once again.
Just then, a faint crack broke the silence. Jerry looked down to find that the Time-Turner in his hand had split open. Golden grains of sand slowly spilled from the hourglass, accompanied by a wisp of silvery-white smoke.
