"You're right, but..." Jerry shook his head. His gaze swept over Voldemort's terrifying, snakeskin-like face, and a shudder ran through him.
He would never turn himself into something neither human nor ghost just to live forever. As things stood, Voldemort could only cling to life with Nagini's venom!
"Heh." Voldemort paid no mind to Jerry's disgust. His rasping voice sounded like two sheets of sandpaper rubbing together. "No one gets into Slytherin and displays exceptional talent without ambition. To pursue power and achieve their goals, they'll pay any price. In the end, you and I are the same kind of person!"
"Isn't it a little early to decide that?" Jerry frowned. He was rather fond of his straight nose!
"What do you need me to do?" Jerry asked bluntly, unwilling to entertain any more of Voldemort's ravings.
"As I said, nothing major." Voldemort shook his head, a cold glint flashing in his scarlet, serpentine eyes. "But I'll have Barty Crouch Jr. use Polyjuice Potion to impersonate Mad-Eye Alastor Moody. He'll help Harry Potter win the Triwizard Tournament. If anything unexpected happens, though, I want you to lend him a hand. You needn't concern yourself with the rest!"
"Of course, if necessary, you'll also have to help us delay Dumbledore!"
Jerry fell silent for a moment after hearing Voldemort's words, then rose and left the Riddle House.
"Master, what does that mean? Is he going to help or not?" Barty Crouch Jr. asked, urgency creeping into his voice.
"The rest is up to you, Barty." Voldemort did not answer his question. He merely gave Jerry's retreating back a meaningful look.
"But Master, he and Dumbledore are close..." Barty Crouch Jr. still felt uneasy. "What if he tells Dumbledore about our plan?"
"Fool. He'll keep our secret," Voldemort muttered with contempt. "I
