The young gate guard raised his Knight Sword high, fighting the Monsters in a bloody battle atop the city walls. Yet resistance like this was doomed to be futile.
Just moments earlier, after the Three Demon Kings gave the signal to attack, nearly ten million Monster soldiers who had infiltrated the city struck at once, turning the entire city into an inferno.
Meanwhile, inside the prison.
Hearing the screams and fighting outside, Emma curled her lips into a smile. She knew her kin would come to rescue her soon.
What Emma had not expected, however, was for a familiar figure to appear before her amid slow, heavy footsteps.
"Jill?"
"Emma, I finally found you!" Jill unlocked the Mithril chains with a key and said weakly, "It's dangerous out there. Lots of people have died. Hurry, run!"
Run?
Emma scoffed inwardly. You're the one who should be running.
Still, since you're rescuing me, I suppose I can take you out with me.
Emma stepped into the cell, only then noticing a six-foot-long venomous stinger embedded in Jill's back!
By now, Jill was exhaling more than he was inhaling, clearly on the verge of death. "Cough, cough... I heard these stingers are attached to their internal organs. I really hope that bee girl is all right."
Looking at the blood on the floor, Emma was at a loss. "At a time like this, you're still worrying about someone else?"
"I can't guarantee that every Monster Girl will like me, but I can guarantee that I'll like every Monster Girl." Jill struggled to wipe the hot tears from the corners of Emma's eyes. "Don't cry. You won't look pretty if you cry."
"Stop talking! I'll go find you a priest right now."
