Zhu Ling spent years searching for her elder sister, remaining away from Dragon Island long enough to miss both Zhu Kun’s imprisonment and the clan’s descent into civil war. Her sister is Zi Yan’s mother; although Zhu Ling’s private thoughts establish their family connection, she initially withholds it from Zi Yan 151 152 155.

Her elder sister once sheltered and protected her. Seeing Zi Yan take command of Dragon Island reminds Zhu Ling of that sister, while embracing her niece brings back memories and regret. Her sister’s absence remains unexplained in the provided chapters 154 157.
