Background / History

The Nine-Tails’ Attack

Recovered deployment orders divide ANBU into three groups: one protected civilians, another pursued the Masked Man, and a third sealed off the Uchiha compound. The orders permitted Uchiha approaching the central battlefield to be treated as suspected rebels. They were authorized through the Hokage Office, countersigned by the Advisors, and supported by Root enforcement 16.

These orders later become evidence in Naruto and Uchiha Tekka’s investigation into the Uchiha’s exclusion from the battle and subsequent scapegoating. Copies are found among concealed records at the Sarutobi clan’s old storehouse 17 18.

Naruto’s Surveillance

Designated ANBU guardians were among those informed that Naruto was Minato Namikaze’s son. Nevertheless, the operatives assigned to watch Naruto documented his mistreatment without consistently intervening 3 16.

Their records covered his food, contacts, harassment, and physical abuse. One operative witnessed seventeen stones strike Naruto and remembered that the fourth split his head open. Another carried a sealed report describing the incident as nonfatal and ordering continued observation 3 4.

Some ANBU also guarded Naruto’s home and knew its poor condition. Their firsthand knowledge contradicted official statements claiming that his allowance funded repairs and adequate meals 5.

Appearance

• White masks conceal the faces of the two operatives sent to contain Naruto in the alley 2.

Body Flicker Technique

Barrier and Restraint Techniques

• Four operatives raise a translucent dome around the backstreet using hand seals and sealing formulas 4.

Armed Combat

• The two sent against Naruto are defeated immediately: one is slammed into a wall, while the other suffers a broken wrist and is kicked through a shop door 2.
• Their barrier and subsequent restraint attempts also fail against Naruto’s controlled Nine-Tails chakra 4.
