Chris couldn't help but marvel at the difference between them. Until recently, Ye Chuqi hadn't even been sure she had a Magical Talent, yet she had already prepared for the possibility.
Ye Chuqi wanted to explain that San San had forced her into it. Besides, when Joshua first arrived in the Imperial Capital, he had spent a while cramming, and she hadn't been idle either. She had read plenty, relevant or otherwise.
What surprised Chris most, though, were the theories Ye Chuqi proposed. Without a formal academy education, he had never considered them. Not that Ye Chuqi had attended classes at the Mage Academy, either, but she knew they didn't teach this. Her ideas came from combining what she had learned across three worlds: modern science, the mysteries of cultivation, and the Magic Elements of this world.
The biggest obstacle to Chris becoming a Grand Mage was his insufficient reserve of Magic Elements. Preparing large-scale spells took too long, and more often than not, he ran out of power before he could cast them. He generally relied on prepared Magic Formations and Crystal Stone to cast large-scale spells normally reserved for Grand Mages. He hadn't invented this method of fighting, but few could use it as skillfully as he did. Keeping the Magic Elements stable and the Magic Formation intact throughout required tremendous Mental Power.
Strangely, Chris had tremendous Mental Power but was somewhat lacking in his ability to sense Magic Elements. That was why he had remained a High-Rank Mage for so many years.
Ye Chuqi's Mental Power was formidable too, so she understood his situation.
"Do you have to draw a Magic Formation from its first line all the way to its last?" Ye Chuqi asked. Like other Formations, it should work if the Formation Patterns were correct,
