Joshua tried to wipe the cold sweat from his forehead, only to realize he was still gripping Ye Chuqi's arm. He let go with an awkward smile and stood there obediently. His body language said it all: If I don't say anything, this won't be embarrassing.

They had emerged quickly, but the power they'd felt in that instant was beyond human control. It had seemed ready to swallow them whole, leaving nothing behind.
