Only after Guga mumbled an apology did Lin Yuan stop. He released her little face, which he had kneaded like dough, and set her down beside his feet.
He looked up at Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing, and the others.
"The Second Trial is at the Ring Sea. I'll go take a look first. Keep at it."
They all knew they would not make it up the mountain anytime soon for their First Trial. Lin Yuan would only be wasting time if he stayed.
Xiao Wu waved him off. "Go on. We'll keep working at it here. We won't hold you back."
Zhu Zhuqing added, "Be careful."
Lin Yuan nodded, called to the group of Gugas behind him, and headed toward the Ring Sea.
They had not gone far when Guga lost patience. She scampered to Lin Yuan's feet, tipped back her head, and asked, "Where are we going, Guga?"
Lin Yuan looked down at her. "Remember those big sharks out at sea when we arrived?"
Guga's eyes lit up. She balled her tiny hands into fists and bounced on the spot. "Are we going to catch a shark to eat, Guga?"
At that shout, the other Gugas perked up too.
Dark Gold Guga grew excited. "Catch a big one! It'll last us several meals, Guga!"
Starry Guga asked softly, "Does shark taste good? I've never tried it, Guga..."
Golden Mastiff Guga curled her lip. "Pfft. It's just a fish. How good could it be, Guga?"
Little Moon Guga jumped high into the air. "Let's catch one and roast it! I want the biggest piece, Guga!"
Jade Guga nodded along. Xuanwu Guga stood obediently to one side, secretly swallowing a mouthful of drool.
The more Lin Yuan listened to their guga-guga chatter, the more absurd it got. Exasperated and amused, he
