Kyle emerged from the Headmaster's Office with a satisfied smile on his face.
The trip had not been in vain. Not only had he gotten the Nimbus 2000 he wanted, but Dumbledore had also found him a legendary alchemist as his alchemy tutor.
Originally, he had only planned to study alchemy under Dumbledore.
After all, Dumbledore's attainments in alchemy were nothing to scoff at. That was how the Chocolate Frog card described him—

However, Kyle's smile vanished when he saw the maze-like staircases before him.
Even after being at Hogwarts for so long, he still had not managed to remember which staircases required jumping across and which would change direction once stepped on.
Fortunately, he did not need to take the stairs.
Ever since he had learned the Cushioning Charm, he had gained a new way of going downstairs—the leap of faith.
Kyle stepped onto the staircase railing.
Not far away, the Savior trio, on their way back to the Gryffindor Common Room, happened to witness the horrifying sight: Kyle stood on the railing, spread his arms, and jumped.
"Kyle!" Hermione screamed, lunging toward the edge of the stairs.
Harry and Ron were frightened out of their wits as well. They rushed to the edge and looked down, but could not see anything. They immediately sprang up, ready to find a professor.
Fortunately, George and Fred happened to pass by and each grabbed one of them, preventing them from repeating last night's mistake.
"What happened?"
Hermione's voice trembled with tears. "Kyle jumped off the building!"
George snorted with laughter, and Hermione's tear-filled death glare immediately shot viciously toward him.
Fortunately, Fred explained in time. "That guy has always gone downstairs like that."
