When Kyle arrived at the Headmaster's Office carrying his small suitcase, the first thing he saw was two little girls sitting before the desk, trembling all over with icy hands and feet, just short of bursting into tears.
"Kyle, I'd very much like to know why you're here at this hour."
Professor Dumbledore, dressed in a fluffy, gaudily purple robe, blinked at Kyle.
If Dumbledore had not been there, Hannah and Hermione would probably have pounced on Kyle and beaten him half to death.
"I just thought we needed a place to practice magic."
Kyle set his suitcase on the floor.
"You know, Hogwarts has plenty of space, but there really aren't many places where we can freely cast magic after classes."
Kyle spread his hands. "You can't expect us to sneak off to the edge of the Forbidden Forest in the middle of the night to practice magic, can you?"
At the mention of the Forbidden Forest, Dumbledore's face darkened slightly.
Ever since he had brought Kyle to Hogwarts, the number of times Hagrid had reported young wizards trespassing into the Forbidden Forest had skyrocketed.
If he was not mistaken, the young wizards Hagrid spoke of were probably these members of the Father-Worriers Alliance.
"Have a seat," Dumbledore said, trying his best to keep a kindly expression. "So, what exactly are you doing now...?"
Kyle casually took a seat in front of the desk.
"As Headmaster, you can give the three of us permission slips allowing us to come to the Headmaster's Office after curfew to study, right?"
Dumbledore folded his hands, his long fingers tapping against one another. "That violates school rules."
From Old Dumbledore's tone, it sounded like he was about to deduct points from all three of them.
