Jiang Lin stood at a crosswalk, clutching a Pirate King manga and shouting at the sky. The page in his hand showed the moment Akainu killed Ace.

Ace was one of Jiang Lin's favorite characters in Pirate King. He had never imagined Ace would die in the Paramount War. Right now, his heart ached just as Luffy's did.

Screech! Bang!

As Jiang Lin fell apart over Oda's writing, brakes shrieked behind him. A crushing pain tore through his body, sending him high into the air before he slammed hard into the ground.

A mechanical voice rang in Jiang Lin's mind. He opened his eyes and found that he was no longer on Earth. A massive Yarukiman Mangrove towered before him, its number 27 standing out so clearly that he instantly knew where he was.

The Sabaody Archipelago—the place where the Worst Generation first emerged, and the closest point to Marine Headquarters on the way into the Grand Line.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A barrage of gunfire and a panicked crowd snapped Jiang Lin back to the present. Pirates fled all around him, with hordes of fierce-looking Marines on their heels.

"Did I get transported to another world?"

Excited, Jiang Lin found a mirror and checked his reflection. The man looking back wore a blue coat and a pointed leather hat—the very picture of a pirate.

His short hair was neat, and his face was still intact. Well, at least he was a handsome nobody.

Jiang Lin had barely begun admiring himself when a middle-aged man leaned in with a "friendly" smile and spoke in a hearty voice. He wore a white cape with the huge word "Justice" on the back, over clothes patterned with pale yellow lines on a dark yellow background.

"Hello, hello! Kid, I'd like to ask you something. I'm looking for a man named Sentomaru. Do you know where he is?"

Kizaru's facial hair, those pale yellow glasses, and that striking white cape—this was none other than Kizaru, one of the Admirals of Marine Headquarters, whose real name was Borsalino.

"A... a Marine... Admiral!"

The pirates around Jiang Lin scattered in terror at Kizaru's appearance. In mere seconds, the street that had been packed with pirates emptied, leaving Jiang Lin alone.

Jiang Lin stared at Kizaru, dumbfounded. As a die-hard Pirate King fan, he knew who stood before him without needing a closer look. Any other time, he might have excitedly called Kizaru his idol. Right now, all he could think about was staying alive. After all, he was dressed as a pirate.

"How strange!"

Kizaru seemed not to notice Jiang Lin's changing expression. He raised his left hand and began talking to the black Den Den Mushi strapped to it.

Jiang Lin had no other choice. Gritting his teeth, he reached out and patted Kizaru's shoulder. The instant his palm touched him, two system messages rang through Jiang Lin's mind.

The shoulder-pat "attack" and moving within a meter of Kizaru had triggered both copying conditions at once.

"Hmm... do you know where Sentomaru is?"

Kizaru lowered his Den Den Mushi and smiled at Jiang Lin.

"Sure. I saw him go that way. How about I take you there?"

Jiang Lin pointed at random down the empty street beside them.

"Oh! Did you now?"

Kizaru gave nothing away. He did not object, though. Instead, he followed Jiang Lin with an amused look.

Thirty seconds!

Jiang Lin led the way while keeping his attention fixed on the system's countdown. He had no abilities yet. If he could not use the system to copy Kizaru's Devil Fruit, he was done for.

"Hello, hello! Kid! Are you sure you know where Sentomaru is?"

Kizaru kept questioning Jiang Lin as they walked.

"Almost there! He's just ahead, around the corner."

Jiang Lin gritted his teeth and kept bluffing. So focused was he on the countdown that he failed to notice he had led Kizaru around a corner and straight back to Yarukiman Mangrove 27.

"Hey, kid. Are you playing games with me?"

A cold voice came from behind Jiang Lin. When he turned, he found Kizaru looking at him with mockery and anger.

One minute has elapsed. The Glint-Glint Fruit has been copied.

Host possesses a Devil Fruit Card. The Devil Fruit Loading Device is now active. Insert a Devil Fruit Card to gain its corresponding Devil Fruit ability.

Glint-Glint Fruit loaded. Each Devil Fruit Card can be used for ten minutes and has a thirty-second cooldown.

After that string of system notifications, Jiang Lin finally had his first means of survival in the pirate world: the Glint-Glint Fruit.

"Have you ever been kicked by light?"

Under Kizaru's hard stare, Jiang Lin slowly raised his left foot. Dazzling yellow light flared from its sole. Kizaru was so startled that he could no longer maintain his easygoing composure.

"Honestly! All I wanted was to ask you where someone was!"

Kizaru muttered in response to Jiang Lin's "provocation," then raised his own left foot. A familiar yellow light began to glow beneath it.

On the Sabaody Archipelago, two men wielding the Glint-Glint Fruit faced each other and launched their attacks.
