Chaos on Impel Down's Third Level

"Laser Beam!"

The Sphinx kept attacking without letup. Jiang Lin stopped dodging and fired several beams from his right hand, piercing the creature's raised palm in an instant.

"Zhajiang noodles!"

"Mixed noodles!"

The wounded Sphinx flew into a rage. It attacked faster, swinging its palms in turn as it swatted at Jiang Lin.

"What a glutton!"

Jiang Lin had no desire to keep fighting it. After wounding the Sphinx, he took advantage of its frenzy to reach the gate to the level below.

"Seastone, huh?"

Jiang Lin turned back toward the Sphinx with a helpless look. He had intended to leave it alone, but the gate was made of Seastone. Without Galdino's Wax-Wax Fruit, he had no way to open it.

"Roar!"

The Sphinx charged at Jiang Lin, shouting the names of noodles as it ran.

"Let me borrow your body!"

Jiang Lin used Yata Mirror to appear above the Sphinx, landed on its back, and began kicking with all his might.

"Light-Speed Kick!"

"Light-Speed Kick!"

Explosions burst across the Sphinx's back. In pain, it raced wildly around the floor, shaking its back to throw Jiang Lin off and stamping its feet as though that might distract it from the pain.

"Hey! What's going on out there? First all that racket, and now it feels like an earthquake! Is this still Impel Down?"

The prisoners on the second level peered fearfully outside their cells, unable to keep from complaining.

"Th-this is bad! The Sphinx has gone berserk! That man... That man's entered Level 3!"

As the cry rang through the monitoring room, Jiang Lin rode the Sphinx's back down into Impel Down's third level.

The scorching air made Jiang Lin feel as though he had stepped into a furnace. This was Impel Down's third level, the Hunger Floor.

"What a pain! I should've just taken the elevator upstairs!"

Jiang Lin looked out at the yellow sand filling the air and muttered his complaint. But he knew that if he had acted so openly on the first level, every guard and Marine in Impel Down would have surrounded him before he ever made it this far.

"By the way, how long are you planning to spy on me?"

Jiang Lin flashed behind a guard holding a Den Den Mushi. He lowered his head and smiled at him.

"I've been s-spotted! Repeat, I've been spotted! Move now! Move now!"

Cold sweat covered the guard's face as he stared at Jiang Lin. Without hesitation, he raised his arm and shouted into the Den Den Mushi.

"No choice! Capture him!"

At the order from the other end of the Den Den Mushi, swarms of Blugori and guards poured in from every direction and charged at Jiang Lin.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

As gunshots rang out, a barrage of small black nets shot toward Jiang Lin.

The nets were made entirely of Seastone. If even one caught Jiang Lin, he would instantly lose all his powers.

"That was close! Too close! You almost caught me!"

Using the Glint-Glint Fruit's speed, Jiang Lin darted through the crowd, severing the rifles in the Prison Guards' hands as he went.

Jiang Lin was fast, but there were plenty of Prison Guards. A chase broke out across the third level.

"So this is the third level? It's really hot!"

While Jiang Lin had his hands full, Luffy arrived on the third level with Galdino.

"Monkey D. Luffy has been spotted. We've confirmed he's the brother of Portgas D. Ace, who's imprisoned on the fifth level. He must be here to rescue Ace. Make sure you capture him on the third level."

The moment the guards in the monitoring room spotted Luffy, they hurried to brief the third-level guards.

"But... we've got a bigger problem to deal with right now!"

A guard held a Den Den Mushi, sweat streaming down his face as he stared ahead. Less than a hundred meters away, Jiang Lin stood calmly amid a crowd of Prison Guards and Blugori, all clutching their stomachs and writhing on the ground.

"What happened? Can't you stop that unidentified man? Where's Saldeath? Isn't he on the third level? Can't he stop him either?"

In the monitoring room, the staff watched Luffy and Galdino make their way deeper into the prison, their faces tight with anxiety.

"Saldeath? He... he..."

"What happened to him?"

The faces in the monitoring room grew grimmer. Had something happened to Saldeath too?

"Saldeath's been beaten too!"

The guard's agitated voice came through the Den Den Mushi. Nearby, at Jiang Lin's feet, a short demon clutching a trident lay flat on his back, eyes shut and utterly motionless.
