The large conference room had escaped the fighting. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony faced south, filling the room with light.
The people seated around the conference table were all heavyweights.
There was the older trio: Fleet Admiral Sengoku, Chief of Staff Tsuru, and the perennial Vice Admiral Garp.
Then there was the middle-aged trio: Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji.
And off to the side was Brannew, the Marine affectionately dubbed the "King of Meetings" by fans. As a clerk, he served as the full-time secretary.
People mocked him for doing nothing but holding meetings and still getting promoted. But he hosted every major meeting. It was like Ninzaburo Shiratori's status as the uncrowned king of Detective Conan World movies.
"Hello, everyone. I'm Rubick, Grand Magus and King of Sky Country. This is Conis, my Queen."
Rubick smiled. Sengoku and the others fell silent at his unusual introduction.
Conis shrank behind Rubick, a little frightened. Tsuru beckoned to her. "Come over here, little girl. Let an old woman keep you company while these men talk."
Rubick gently nudged Conis toward Granny Tsuru, then pulled a heap of cosmetics from his Dimensional Space and set them on the table. "Even better. Go on, thank Granny Tsuru."
Conis sat beside Granny Tsuru, looking very nervous.
"Granny Tsuru is very kind," Rubick said. "These are my gifts for our first meeting. They're good cosmetics. Use them, and I guarantee you'll have fewer wrinkles!"
Granny Tsuru smiled. "You weren't planning to take those out just now, were you?"
"Oh, don't worry about the details!"
Garp slapped the table. "Rubick, what's that supposed to mean? Where's my gift?"
"Next time, definitely!"
Akainu couldn't stand it anymore. "Hey, is this really what we should be discussing?"
Sengoku coughed. "Ahem. Rubick, this is your summons to join the Shichibukai.
