Background / History
Robin grew up in Ohara under the care of neighbors. Her mother was usually absent, having left to investigate the truth of history. Before Robin turned eight, she accidentally ate a Devil Fruit; afterward, others treated her as a monster, and she had no friends 110.
She became Ohara’s sole survivor after its destruction by a Buster Call. A Marine vice admiral with a D in his name saved her, and Aokiji later acknowledges having let her go. Her subsequent life was marked by isolation, danger, and unwanted attention from people who sought to exploit her 8 132 134 136.
Robin eventually joined Baroque Works because she believed Alabasta’s royal tomb contained a Poneglyph. While working to earn her employer’s trust, she recruited members for the organization and pursued her own goal: finding the Poneglyphs and reconstructing the missing history 5 7.
Appearance
Robin is tall and long-legged, with an hourglass figure, a slender waist, tan skin, and a prominent nose. She is slightly taller than Rubick 5 110.
- First outfit: Purple off-the-shoulder top, knee-length skirt, tall boots, a thin white shawl, and a cowboy hat 5.
- Whiskey Peak reunion: Cowboy hat, black button-front denim vest, short skirt, and knee-high boots 63.
- Visit to Rubick’s parents: Changes from a short purple lace-trimmed dress and thigh-high stockings into a pale blue shirt, cropped trousers, and heeled sandals to make a more conservative first impression 149.
Personality
Robin is composed, observant, and difficult to deceive. After initially recoiling at Rubick’s copied Flower-Flower Fruit, she regains her composure within moments and questions whether he can retain more than one copied power. Later, discrepancies between his homeland’s history and the known age of their world lead her to suspect that he comes from somewhere beyond it 6 110.
Her humor can be dry or deliberately unsettling. She teases Rubick about his romantic interests, dismisses his claims of maturity, and outwardly minimizes their closeness when he disappears on Jaya. Her immediate relief upon learning how he was captured—and her insistence on joining his rescue—show the concern beneath that guarded presentation 100 101 110 131.
Robin values historical truth and personal freedom more than wealth. She explicitly tells Nami that gems do not interest her, chooses the Straw Hats because another crew might deprive her of freedom, and initially postpones marriage because she wants to continue searching for the Poneglyphs rather than repeat her own mother’s absence from a child’s life 89 90 110.
Abilities & Skills
Flower-Flower Fruit
Robin can sprout parts of her body anywhere she can see, including on other people and on her own body 90.
- Restraint and lethal attacks: Uses sprouted arms to snap the necks of seven or eight Poker Pirates 6.
- Six Fleur: Clutch: Grows arms from Shandora’s shoulders and waist, locks her neck, and bends her ankles backward, causing her to collapse into a canal 136.
- Disarming opponents: Ambushes Van Augur and nearly takes his weapon, driving him away from Usopp and Chopper 100 104.
- Combat support: Covers gaps in the Straw Hat squad’s formation while commanding from the rear at Marineford 175.
- Noncombat use: Creates hand-shaped “antlers” on Luffy’s head to entertain him, Usopp, and Chopper 90.
- Early control limit: States that she can control at most six arms, compared with the eight Rubick controls after copying her power 7.
- Proposed development: Rubick suggests duplicates, enormous limbs, and wings. These are training possibilities, not confirmed techniques Robin performs in the supplied chapters 107.
Archaeology and Poneglyph Reading
Robin is identified as the only person in the world able to read Poneglyphs, making her crucial to interpreting the four red stones used to locate Laugh Tale 7 63.
- Historical investigation: Seeks to reconstruct the Void Century rather than acquire the Ancient Weapons themselves 7 82.
- West Blue discovery: Finds a Poneglyph whose information leads her toward the Grand Line 111.
- Alabasta research: Obtains information about Pluton, but not the historical record she hoped to find 89 111.
- Shandora exploration: Recognizes that part of the ruined city is missing and later reads the Golden Bell’s Poneglyph, which contains information about Poseidon 123 129.
- Roger’s inscription: Notices a message left by the Pirate King near the Golden Bell 129.
- Historical deduction: Connects Jaya’s golden artifacts and bell legend to an ancient civilization that may have been carried into the sky 103.
Intelligence, Languages, and Coordination
Robin combines information gathering with discreet cooperation and practical leadership 82 100 103 175.
- Deliberately allows Vivi and Igaram to discover useful information within Baroque Works 82.
- Interprets an upward-pointing Log Pose as evidence of an island’s magnetic field above the ship 91.
- Learns Chinese from Rubick and uses the language called Dragon Language for private conversations that Mary and Enel cannot understand 91 103 111.
- Finds information about three pirate crews on northeastern Jaya and proposes approaching them after the Going Merry is damaged 100.
- Assigns Luffy and Nami to gather information while the crew prepares for the journey to Sky Island 103.
Equipment / Items
- Drum Kingdom Pose — Gives Rubick a navigation Pose during their reunion at Whiskey Peak 63.
- Rubick’s Vivre Card — Keeps one quarter of his card; its continued existence gives her reason to believe he survived his defeat by Kaido 203.
- Hair ornament — Still wears the dangling ornament after Rubick rescues her from Marineford 180.

Loguetown: Alliance with Rubick

- Pursues Shandora’s ruins and the Golden Bell’s Poneglyph, while questioning Rubick’s belief that Luffy’s fruit determines the world’s fate 108 111 123 129.
- Becomes intimate with Rubick at the Shrine and discusses her survival after Ohara. She nevertheless leaves with the Straw Hats rather than remain with him in Sky Country 131 132.
Aokiji, Water 7, and Enies Lobby
- Offers to surrender to Aokiji if doing so will spare her crewmates. The Straw Hats refuse to abandon her and attack him 134.
- Defeats Shandora’s attack in Water 7, but is immediately surrounded by masked CP9 agents. Lucci wounds and captures her after she attempts to restrain them 136 137.

- Later expresses confidence that Rubick will come for her. After he rescues her, she warns him that the Buster Call makes an immediate retreat necessary 142 145.

Trivia
- Macron addresses Robin as “Miss Christmas” during her first appearance; later chapters identify her Baroque Works codename as Miss All Sunday 5 63.
- During her initial tavern visit, she requests black tea and cake that is not too sweet 5.
- Rubick copies her Flower-Flower Fruit both early in their acquaintance and at Marineford, where he combines it with Buggy’s Chop-Chop Fruit to create his Thousand-Armed Guanyin Form. That fusion belongs to Rubick, not Robin 6 177 178.
