Only Garp had come as reinforcements, along with his personal Dog-Head Battleship.
But Garp had rushed ahead using Geppo. By the time the battleship reached shore, several minutes had already passed.
Fleet Admiral Kong was near death, his body covered in wounds. He had suffered a heavy blow to the head and lost an arm and a leg. Worst of all, blood was still flowing from the hole through his abdomen.
Fortunately, Kong's life force was formidable. The muscles around his severed limbs had contracted on instinct, and with his powerful recovery, the bleeding there had stopped.
But that also meant his arm and leg would be difficult to reattach.
There were doctors aboard the ship, but even they found injuries this severe extremely difficult to handle.
All they could do was give his wounds basic treatment, disinfect them, and most importantly, administer an emergency blood transfusion.
Otherwise, Kong might not survive the trip back to Marine Headquarters.
Only at Marine Headquarters could he receive proper treatment.
Kong was taken back there immediately.
Looking at the state he was in, it was hard to imagine what kind of battle he had fought, or what kind of enemy he had faced.
Redfield alone? It was almost impossible to believe.
"What the hell happened?"
Zephyr had hurried over as soon as he heard the news. He, too, had no idea how Kong could have been beaten this badly.
"I don't know. We'll ask Kong when he wakes up."
Garp shook his head. He didn't know exactly what had happened either.
Redfield was already gone, and Garp had no idea whether anyone else had been there.
What mattered most now was Kong's condition. He was receiving emergency treatment, and the best doctors at Marine Headquarters had all been called in.
