Garp had no intention of coming off worse, of course.
His figure vanished into the air as he shot toward Teach like an arrow loosed from a bow, crimson lightning crackling around his body and his pupils turning scarlet.
After their last two clashes, Garp understood just how troublesome Teach's strength and unusual abilities were.
Defeating him would be impossible without going all out.
He was Garp.
Even Roger had never managed that.
How could he allow himself to become a stepping stone for this young pirate?
Garp defied gravity, his overwhelming presence forcibly tearing apart the field around him.
His terrifying Haki burned as fiercely as fire and blazed like the brilliant sun.
Teach's expression darkened. Haki coiled around his body, and he refused to yield before Garp's fist, throwing a punch of his own.
All his power gathered together.
His arms suddenly swelled, exuding a terrifying, intangible menace.
Darkness enveloped Teach's body and arms, as though a black dragon were winding its way along his arm.
Teach would not abandon his advantage.
As Garp appeared before him, two Dark Jades blocked his path.
They formed a powerful barrier of darkness, wreathed in dark aura. Unfortunately, it had no Haki reinforcing it.
Teach could certainly use Haki to strengthen the Dark Jades' defenses.
But that would require touching them, which would also restrict him in combat.
The Dark Jades shattered like glass. However hard they were, they were as flimsy as paper before Garp's brutal punch.
Concentrating all his power into a single point to pierce the barrier was Garp's answer to this move.
It was indeed highly effective.
Teach wanted to repeat his earlier trick, using the Dark Jades to block while attacking Garp from another angle.
Garp gave him no such opportunity, locking firmly onto Teach's presence.
