Awakening

Warm sunlight streamed through the glass window and fell across the sharp features of the man in the hospital bed. As if disturbed by it, he frowned faintly and slowly opened his eyes.

A stretch of white ceiling filled his vision. Zhou Sining stared at it in a daze for a while before he gradually remembered what had happened.

Because of Mu Yuang, he had lost control of his emotions and nearly burned down the Magic Association.

Zhou Sining searched his meager knowledge of the law. How many years in prison would that earn him?

With a bitter laugh, he propped himself up and looked around. The room had every amenity; it even seemed to be an Advanced Level ward.

"You're awake?" The door suddenly opened, and a doctor in a white coat walked in.

She gave him a gentle smile. "Good. I'll contact your friends right away. Try not to move around."

She then asked a nurse nearby to contact Mu Nujiao and the others.

"I... who are you?" Zhou Sining asked weakly, his head still foggy.

"This is City Hospital, and I'm your attending doctor. Don't worry. You passed out from overexerting your Spiritual Power. Get plenty of rest and you'll be fine," she explained gently.

Zhou Sining took the cup she offered and drank a few sips to soothe his throat. "Why was my Spiritual Power overexerted?"

The doctor shook her head. "I don't know. We're only responsible for treating you. You can ask your friends when they arrive."

"How long was I unconscious?"

"Three days."

"Three days?" Zhou Sining frowned. He couldn't imagine what had kept him unconscious for so long.

The last thing he remembered was the Falcon Tribunal Officer moving to arrest him. Just as the Thunderbolt was about to strike, before he could
