Background / History

After Thanos’s Snap, Tony withdrew from most Avengers activity and settled with Pepper and Morgan at a lakeside cabin. He let the newly arrived Lin Yi live in the woods on his property despite finding no records of him. Their banter grew into friendship; when Lin Yi saved Pepper and Morgan from missiles aimed at the cabin, Tony gave him a Mark 50 armor 2 3.

When Steve Rogers and the others asked Tony to help reverse the Snap, he hesitated to risk the life he had built with his family. Scott Lang’s return from the Quantum Realm and Lin Yi’s encouragement led him to develop a working time-travel navigation device and rejoin the Avengers’ plan to collect the Infinity Stones 2 3 4.

During the resulting battle, Tony helped Lin Yi gather the Stones and warned him when the mutated Thanos’s use of the Power Stone threatened to destroy Earth. After Lin Yi’s Snap erased Thanos’s forces, black-and-purple markings spread among the survivors. Tony’s scans could not identify them, so he mobilized Stark robots to build a quarantine perimeter and joined the search for a solution 12 13 15 16.

Tony’s concern for Morgan shapes his decisions in both universes. The lakeside Tony fears losing the peace he has found with Pepper and their daughter, but returns to the Avengers when time travel offers a chance to restore those lost in the Snap.
