Uatu was so anxious he felt as though a fire were burning inside him, scorching him from the gut outward. Yet he had to keep up a calm appearance. He couldn't let anyone see he was on the verge of panic.
He had already weighed the risks. There was only one way forward, and it was absurdly dangerous.
If Russell lost the coming battle and their defenses collapsed, Uatu at least had a way to survive. He could tear through layers of spacetime and flee at any moment. At worst, he would make an undignified escape, then seek help from other Watchers and hide in some remote gap between universes while he recovered. Staying alive would not be a problem.
But that mechanical monster had been after him from the start. With the power of all Six Stones, it could track his presence across the Multiverse, leaving him nowhere to hide or catch his breath. In the end, it might really kill him.
There was something else Uatu couldn't make sense of, either.
Russell could create Infinity Stones himself. Gathering all six should have been easy for him, yet he had made only five and set them into a custom mechanical glove. He had deliberately left out the most crucial one.
Uatu couldn't help wondering whether Russell had treated this entire battle against Ultron as a game from the beginning. Or did he know Tony could never withstand the terrifying combined power of all Six Stones' Cosmic Laws? Was he afraid the stones would tear Tony apart on the spot, and had he left one out for that reason?
The more Uatu thought about it, the more uneasy he became. At last, he warned Russell, unable to hide the worry in his voice. "My advice? Make the last Infinity Stone
